Akademik Shokalskiy Sails South
After three days of being prepped and preened in Lyttelton, Akademik Shokalskiy set sail at 1700 hours for Bluff and her first adventure of the season - Galapagos of the Southern Ocean.
Akademik Shokalskiy joins her sister ship Spirit of Enderby expedition cruising Australia and New Zealand's Subantarctic Islands, the Ross Sea and East Antarctica over the Antarctic summer months.
