A first-ever visit to Kadugawa Village
It was a special moment on our Discover the Secrets of Melanesia voyage, a first-ever expedition cruise ship visit to Kaduwaga Village in the Trobriand Islands.
Upon arrival to the village, nearly the entire 1000 residents welcomed us with an incredible cultural performance. It was a perfect setting for the performance, set in the middle of the village against the lagoon, under the shade of a large tree. Afterwards, the locals invited us to dance with them and then took us on a tour through the village.
The crystal-clear waters of the Trobriand Islands and a bar on a white-sand beach made for a spectacular afternoon of snorkelling, exploring the beach, or relaxing.
