Secret Paradise on Hidden Island

The morning started with options on our Kimberley Explorer voyage. For those who wanted to stretch their legs before a dip in the ocean, a walk over the sandstone and through bush to the beautiful Silica Beach on Hidden Island was for the adventurous. For those who wanted a more direct route to the ocean, there was an option for a Zodiac cruise to Silica Beach, where our bartender Arthur was waiting with drinks for us on the beach!

Enjoying the squeaky, soft sand underfoot, we spotted Quoll prints in the sand and found shade close to the sandstone rocks. With the Expedition Team posted around the "swimming pool" on Croc watch, we all enjoyed a dip in the cooling, crystal-clear ocean with a glass of bubbles.

After lunch on board, we headed on an afternoon Zodiac cruise to explore Hidden Island and Bayliss Islands. Leaving for our final Zodiac adventure, the Expedition Team collectively explored every nook and cranny possible at low tide. Encountering Ospreys, Oystercatchers and White-bellied Sea Eagles soaring up high. Barnacles, oysters, and Hairy Chitons on the low-tide mark gave us a glimpse of the intertidal zone, while numerous rock formations stood proud, like statues (albeit a little weathered), providing a dramatic backdrop for our last afternoon on the Kimberley Coast.

We rested up for the evening’s festivities. Captain Jacek, the ship’s crew and the Expedition Team farewelled us over cocktails and we reminisced about our expedition while watching the slideshow of our adventures.
