Experiencing the ancient Ambrym Rom Dance on Ambrym Island

Today, we arrived at Ambrym Island and headed on a 4-kilometre walk to the special site where the soil reverberates for the unique ceremony of the Ambrym Rom Dance. This is an ancient dance recounting the tale of good versus evil, set among the forested slopes of the volcano. The rain started at the start of this incredible ceremony and finished as they finished. It was a truly breathtaking experience.

In the afternoon, we finished our incredible Discover the Secrets of Melanesia voyage dramatically. A thunderstorm roared in the sky as we Zodiac cruised up the large river into Port Sandwich on Malekula Island. What a way to finish our adventure!
