Cruising, Caving and Culture at Caramoan
This morning we woke to a stunning sunrise as Heritage Adventurer glided over mirror-clam seas to the spectacular limestone karst landscape of the Caramoan National Park.
The day was clear blue and sunny, and we enjoyed a Zodiac cruise up the Manapot River to explore a karst cave. Guests then opted for a short walk or a climb up to a large cave before fording a river, visiting a local village and walking back to the beach.
At the Hunongan Cove Resort we were treated to the Filipino’s love language of hospitality – with an amazing array of local foods and traditional Filipino dancing on the beach.
After lunch it was off to the beautiful Matukad Island to learn about the local reef restoration programme and snorkel the underwater world amidst a tropical downpour. The evening cruise south provided great vistas of the volcano – Mayon.
