Scott Base and McMurdo Station
Today our group was treated to a visit to both New Zealand's Scott Base and the USA's McMurdo Station. It is always interesting to speak to the people who live and work in these remote places and our passengers were keen to meet as many staff as possible. Some people also climbed Observation Hill and were rewarded with a fantastic view from the remaining sea ice dotted with Weddel Seals to the Ross Sea Ice Shelf in the distance. We later made a landing at Hutt Point to visit Scott's Discovery Hut as the wind picked up, making the temperature drop to minus 14 degrees Celcius.
