Ready to Head to Wrangel
After a week’s layup in Egvekinot doing maintenance and replenishing water supplies, we are now anchored off Anadyr ready to embark a full contingent of expeditioners for our first expedition to Wrangel Island this season. Obtaining the necessary permits for these expeditions has been a long drawn out process this year, but we finally have them. We used our time in Egvekinot to renew some old friendships, make new friends, explore the tundra, climb a mountain, rewrite some lectures and catch up on correspondence. We are refreshed, recharged and ready to go. Wrangel Island here we come!
