Farewelling Antarctica
We left the Balleny Islands yesterday amid the spectacular sight of hundreds of Antarctic Fulmar rafting on the sea and around a thousand perched atop a glacier.
Other wildlife observed included another Humpback Whale, Crabeater Seal and a final Adelie Penguin. At 1530 hours we passed over the Balleny Seamount which extends more than 2,000-metres-plus from the sea bed to just 60-metres below the surface.
Having enjoyed an evening of calm seas, we are now on our way to Australia's Macquarie Island.
