Exploring the lush rainforest of the Bomberai Peninsula

Today was one of the highlights of our Indonesian Explorer voyage. Hopping on our Zodiacs, we headed to a pristine rainforest with huge waterfalls tumbling into the sea. As we explored this lush tropical paradise, we saw azure, blue lagoons full of turtles. Then we walked through the rainforest of the Momon Headland at the Bomberai Peninsula, located on the south coast of West Papua. It was a sensational experience as we observed an array of spectacular wildlife in this isolated part of the world. 

To top off an incredible day, at sunset, we watched thousands of Flying Foxes leaving their roosts against a glowing red sky.
