The dynamic surrounds of Dusky Sound

A full day in the breathcatching surrounds of Dusky Sound was had by all as the first Zodiacs peeled away from Heritage Adventurer bound for Earshell Cove and Little Harbour this morning.

Guests enjoyed stunning views of hanging mosses, gigantic geology and delicate orchids along the shoreline while New Zealand Falcon and Kereru/native pigeon soared overhead.

After a quick cuppa back on board, the adventurous ones ventured out on a hike to an outlook in Basin Bay. Following a divine lunch it was back in the Zodiacs to discover the hidden gems of Sportsman Cove while the region's rich Maori and European history was discussed through sunshine, rain and breezy conditions.

Later, a mini Zodiac cruise to admire Spotted Shags and take in the majestic scenery was enjoyed before entering Waka Harbour for a guided hike through historical areas. Back on board the day finished with an informative recap followed by a fireside chat about New Zealand native species with Rod Morris.
