Near Perfect Conditions Heading South

15 November, 2017

Our 2017/18 southern season got underway earlier this week with our annual Birding Down Under Expedition.

We set sail from the Port of Bluff in near perfect conditions, Foveaux Strait which is notorious for its rough weather was flat calm. We enjoyed a great overnight run to the Snares Island where the weather remained calm.

On our zodiac cruise (landings are not permitted)  we had great views of all the endemic species (except snipe.. which has only ever been seen from Zodiacs on one occasion) and the lighting was fantastic for photography and observations
