Medny Island Magic
Sailing under the cover of darkness as guests on our Russia's Ring of Fire voyage slept, we arrived to perfect Medny Island conditions - glassy calm seas and no wind, clouds or fog. Landing at the old village site we spent the following hours enjoying village life and taking in the astonishing views before boarding our Zodiacs and cruising the coastline watching Sea Otters, Horned and Tufted Puffins, and Parakeet Auklets go about their hectic days set against the spectacular backdrop of Medny Island. Spirit of Enderby is now steaming bound for the Zhupanova River which we expect to reach tomorrow afternoon.
