Icy Voyage to Wrangel

We battled ice most of the way north and arrived at Wrangel Island in the small hours of the morning. It was a spectacular journey and on one occasion we had a female Polar Bear with her two year old cub not far from the ship. This morning we landed at Doubtful Harbour on Wrangel and had really good encounters and opportunities to photograph Polar Bears. Those taking the overland excursion headed off across the island while the remainder of the party went for a walk. We are now steaming towards Cape Blossom, hoping that the easterly wind has blown the ice out to sea.
