Exploring Makira
Today we spent our last morning on the high islands of the Solomons, with a visit to Star Harbour on Makira. A leisurely zodiac cruise through the mangroves and a stroll through the forest brought us to the spectacular southern coast of Makira where the ocean swells crash on the shore, and the children surf on homemade Sago surfboards. We are now making our longest ocean crossing of the voyage as we sail from Makira to Nendo in Temotu province with our expected arrival tomorrow morning.
