Exploring Carnley Harbour & Musgrave Inlet

Once again we have been blessed with fantastic conditions for zodiac cruising. This morning, the sun shone down as we cruised picturesque Musgrave Inlet. We enjoyed fantastic sightings of the incredibly photogenic Eastern Rockhopper Penguins as they clambered across rocks in and out of the water.

We then explored a couple of serene caves and some of our expeditioners took advantage of the perfect acoustics to sing some Chinese operatics. We returned aboard the ship for lunch as the ship sailed into Carnley Harbour.

We then disembarked at Tagua Bay for a walk up to the coastwatcher's huts. Our visit sparked the interest of a particularly curious Sea Lion who Chris and Alex distracted while we visited the huts before returning down the muddy track to board the ship again.

Back on board Sarah provided us with an excellent recap of the birds of the Auckland Islands while Chris took us through the history of Macquarie Island as we set sail for Macquarie Island
