The HE team celebrates Midwinter Christmas with the Antarctic Society
The Heritage Expeditions office team was invited by the Canterbury Branch of the Antarctic Society to celebrate Midwinter Christmas last Friday, on a rainy Christchurch evening. We toasted the explorers of the Commonwealth Transantarctic Expedition and listened to fascinating accounts of their exploits as captured by the Oral Histories Project. Along with a three course dinner, and plenty of warming red wine, it was the perfect way to celebrate the shortest day and to commemorate the feats of adventurers such as Sir Edmund Hillary, Sir Vivian 'Bunny' Fuchs, George Lowe and their team.
