In the Wake of Scott & Shackleton: Ross Sea Antarctica

“The landscapes, both Subantarctic and Antarctic were breathtaking”

“This was a magnificent trip. The pre trip advice was very good. The organisation on the ship was efficient. The lectures were really interesting and covered a wide range of topics from flora, fauna, rocks, geography, how to get the most out of photographing with a mobile phone, transport in the Antarctica etc. The landscape and wildlife were outstanding. The experience of the staff really showed. If weather or ice prevented one course of action there was always a plan B. The cabins were well designed and comfortable. The meals were excellent. I am a vegetarian and no meal ever doubled up. The staff were friendly and very positive. I loved the Zodiac rides. If you like seeing minke whales, orcas, sea lions, seals, hordes of penguins, albatrosses and other bird life etc this is a great trip to go on. The landscapes, both Subantarctic and Antarctic were breathtaking. My favourite penguins were the cute little Adelie Penguins who were very interested in people and are very photogenic. It was also enjoyable having 24 hour daylight and to be able to visit the original explorers’ huts.”
