“A Total Experience of the Beauty and Power of Nature”

“My wife and I just returned from a trip to the Subantarctic with Heritage Expeditions on their ship Spirit of Enderby. It’s a long time since we’ve had such a total experience of the beauty and power of nature. Our voyage took us first to the Snares Islands where we toured the coastline in our Zodiacs at sunrise. The skies filled with thousands of seabirds and the water around us was alive with penguins and sea lions. Then it was on further south to the history and wildlife of the Auckland Islands; a world of shipwrecks and albatross lost in the endless waves. Fantastic! The Spirit of Enderby herself was a wonderful haven at the end of each event-packed day. The crew were great, the food fantastic and the expert guides always willing to share their enthusiasm for the environment we were exploring. It was very easy to find friends amongst our fellow passengers united in a spirit of giving everything a go and I’m sure we all came away much the richer from the whole experience. This was a trip we will both remember for a very long time. It was a privilege to enter this wild and beautiful place and we can only encourage others to visit if they can.”
