Forgotten Islands of the South Pacific: Subantarctic Islands

“We were blessed”

“After a dreadful year of disruption, this was a much anticipated trip away and I was not disappointed. The experience both on and off the boat was very memorable, and I enjoyed the fellow travellers almost as much as the flora and fauna. Being able to get so close to the Royal Albatrosses on Campbell Island was a real highlight for me, and the Anisotome latifolia and Bulbinella rossii were spectacular colour highlights in my photographs. I particularly appreciated the lecture on seaweed by Courtney as I did not know anything about Durvillea antarctica, and the talks on the sea birds, the seals and sealions and the land flora were also very informative. We were blessed with settled weather, and the views were spectacular.”
