Waterfowl World
This is the penultimate day of our expedition 'In the Wake of Bering' and the last update before our arrival in Anadyr. Last evening we spent an incredible couple hours with hundreds of walrus swimming off the coast. They came very close to the Zodiacs, allowing some close encounters and great photos. We have just completed a busy morning with a landing at Keyngyilgyn Lagoon south of Anadyr. The birding there was very good with another White Gyr Falcon plus a good array of waterfowl and waders including Brent, White-fronted and Emperor Geese (shown below), breeding Temminck’s Stint, Red-necked Stint, Aleutian Tern, Arctic Tern, and Red Knots.
