Tongan Whistler

We are currently anchored in the beautiful harbour of Neiafu in Tonga’s Vava'u group of islands. Our birding party went to nearby Pangamotu Island early this morning and was rewarded with sightings of the endemic Tongan Whistler (shown below), along with the Long-tailed Cuckoo and Pacific Imperial Pigeon. Tonight we head to Niua Fo’oa where we hope to see the Tongan Megapode.
