Team Time Out

The expedition team hasn't been idle since the completion of our 'In the Wake of Bering' voyage. With a few days to fill before our next adventure we invited a team from Birds Russia and Birdlife International to join us as we searched an extensive area in and around Kresta Bay for Spoon-billed Sandpiper. Sadly (especially for the species) no new birds were located, but we did gather a wealth of ornithological data which will contribute to our overall knowledge of the region. During the search one of our teams was somewhat surprised to encounter a Polar Bear further south in Chukotka than we have ever recorded before.

As I write this we are getting ready to embark a group of passengers tomorrow in the Port of Anadyr for our special expedition around Chukotka. Look out for updates as this expedition unfolds.
