Talan Island Dawn

Hotel Manager Meghan's voice roused the group at 0430hrs encouraging them to prepare for something amazing. All were aboard the Zodiacs and heading for Talan Island by 0500hrs, just as the sun appeared to cast a beautiful light over the sea and coastline.

As we cruised inshore we were met by thousands of Auklets as they departed the island for the day and as the light increased, more and more wildlife started to wake up. Over 30 Steller's Sea Eagles sought breakfast around the cliff ledges and more Horned Puffins then you can ever imagine filled the sky.

We then landed for an hour to explore on foot, returning to the ship at 0800hrs to download photos, recharge camera batteries and human batteries with a well earned breakfast.
