Sepik River
We spent the morning exploring the Sepik River proper, which included picking up river guides in Kupo village who took us through a narrow channel that led back to the river.
The bird-watching group had set off separately and spotted a wide variety of pigeons and parrots throughout the morning. After returning to the ship, Adam delivered a lecture on the cetaceans we are likely to encounter on the expedition and Aaron provided instructions for tomorrow’s snorkelling. The ship set sail towards Manus Island at about 10.30am. We expect to arrive near Bipi Island off Manus at daybreak.
