This morning we woke to perfect conditions and took the rare opportunity to meet the crews based at the US and New Zealand Antarctic research stations and explore their facilities. Joining the US team at McMurdo Station in the morning, our good weather fortune was not to last with the wind increasing drastically by midday. While this didn't prevent us from visiting our Kiwi friends at Scott Base, the 32-knot winds made for an adventurous Zodiac cruise back to Spirit of Enderby. The warm hospitality and fascinating insights offered into the research both bases are doing made for a memorable day with new friends.
