Rolling Along

We are encountering heavy rolling seas so all lectures were cancelled today as expeditioners hunkered down in their cabins or met to compare notes in the bar/library. The galley never fails to provide delicious meals despite the conditions, even if many portions remain untouched. Weather forecasting for the days ahead was the main topic of conversation, with a few hoping for a real Southern Ocean gale to add to their adventure. To the relief of many they may miss out on this wish, as the average conditions for the Furious 50’s and Roaring 40’s of 25-35kts and 3-4mtr seas are looking likely for our trip north. If we do manage to experience a particularly stormy day it will make our arrival at Campbell Island even more inviting.
