Orca Pod Passes

The deterioration in the weather was short lived. We had some rain at Verkhoturova Island yesterday but this morning’s landing at Karaginskiy Island was made under perfect blue skies which have stayed with us as we track south towards the Commander Islands. We enjoyed a brief encounter with a large pod of Orca a short while ago. Conditions were perfect for observing these majestic creatures but they clearly had a destination in mind and weren’t interested in hanging around. We will be around the Commander Islands for the next two days and hope this good weather continues.
