Nearing the Solomon Islands

Day 10: Friday April 15

The gentle southeast trade winds were to our advantage as we continued our expedition northwards to the Solomon Islands. As we were in over 30 degrees Celsius, over 90% humidity and very deep water, birds were rather scarce, although several band-rumped storm-petrels were new species for today. The group was eagerly anticipating the next phase of the expedition where we could get explore these beautiful islands to experience the local culture and discover many new birds.
