Melanesia Discoverer is underway

Finally gathering all together onboard the Spirit of Enderby in Madang, we were looking forward to the next few days of exporing the sights and sounds of Papua New Guinea on our Melanesia Discoverer voyage. After a restful nights sleep, we set off early to explore the mighty Sepik River. Over 1,200km long and the longest river in Papua New Guinea, it is a rich arterial that has fostered great traditional artisits, renowned for their intricate carving and their shared ancestral ties to the crocodile. After an exciting zodiac trip through a sago palm shortcut, we enjoyed a magnificent masalai (spirit) dance at Kopar Village and a chance to do some artefact buying.
