Calmer Seas Enroute to Ross Sea

Everyone was relieved when they woke up and the sea flattened out a bit. The calmer seas meant it was a great day to enjoy a few lectures. We had our Antarctica Overview lecture which set expectations on what we hoped to accomplish and see during our highly anticipated time in Antarctica. This was the first of many days at sea traveling southward, but it was a great chance for people to catch up on reading, photo editing, journaling, and doing some seabird watching from the bridge. We also kicked off our ‘Iceberg Competition’ with guests eagerly submitting their guesses for when we would see the first iceberg.
