Arrival at Campbell Island

We arrived to Campbell Island after a very smooth crossing from Auckland Islands. We anchored down at 6 am, greeted by a cold wind, grey skys and rain on the portholes, but it has cleared nicely so after all of us have finished a huge breakfast we are away off the Spirit of Enderby. Weather conditions around the ship are currently a southwest breeze and passing clouds.   We have 20 brave expeditioners departing to climb up to Northwest Bay and 30 remaining on the water on the zodiacs for a cruise around Perserverance Harbour's shores escorted by several curious sea lions that were circling and breaching during loading operations this morning. Our plans are for Col Lyall this afternoon which should put the exclamation point on another great day in the Subantartic Islands.
