A crash involving a drunk-driver in 1990 left Rikki with 60 per cent mobility in his right arm, which has no elbow. With limited strength and movement, and no modifications to his kayak, he can't explain how he avoids going round in circles.
But his previous success' of paddling across the Cook and Foveaux Straits have prove his abilities as a Kayaker.
Heritage Expeditions have provid Rikki with transportation up to the remote Kermadec Islands aboard the expedition ship 'Spirit of Enderby'.
