Dolphins Ride the Bow Wave
We continue to enjoy very pleasant conditions as we cross the Australian Bight with some interesting bird records. We have now chalked up 34 Gould's Petrel for the voyage. Yesterday we saw an incredible 12 Sooty Albatross including some that passed close by the ship.
While cetacean sightings have not been plentiful, we did enjoy watching a large group of Southern-right-whale Dolphins that were boiling the water as they came charging in to bowride for a few minutes. This was an unexpected thrill for everyone.
