Research Voyage

Current postion: 67 North & 169 West
In the middle of the Bering Strait
Weather: 30 knots of wind, rough waters and rain

The research team was excited as we arrived at the first station late at night. Everyone was up and about to watch the deployment of the first CTD. It was dark, rainy and very cold, but the team worked taking samples all through the night.

Overnight Work

Today we have encountered rough weather and waters as we sail towards the next station. Unfortunately it is not safe to work on the back deck in these conditions and a lot of scientist are feeling unwell as we ride the swell. Hopefully the weather will improve in the next 24 hours and work can resume.
