The Pacific Pelagic Odyssey has Begun

Overnight we made our way up the stunning south west coast of New Ireland and transited Steffen Strait at dawn.

There were large volumes of sea bird species, abundant fish life and only the odd village in this rarely visited part of the world.

Before lunch we passed close in to the last outlier of Papua New Guinea, Tench Island, which is home to thousands of sea birds and a fitting farewell to this amazing country.
