Otters and Relics

Sea Otters

 

Sea and wind conditions have eased somewhat allowing us to work the South and South East coasts of the small Kuril Islands. The two shore parties picked their way along the cliffs amongst the relics of both Russian and Japanese occupation whilst searching for Sea Otters. The signs have been encouraging, with a total of about 60 animals observed so far.
