New Club Members

We have been blessed with calm seas over the last 3 days offering a great run south towards the Ross Sea. The time has been spent learning from the team of lecturers aboard and making preparations for our arrival in the Antarctic. Just after 1445 yesterday fifty new members were inducted into the select Antarctic Circle Club. Their accomplishment of crossing the circle was acknowledged by the ‘Mark of the Penguin’ and a glass of mulled wine with due ceremony on the foredeck. Small patches of sea ice were first encountered at approx. 2345 yesterday and we are now about to cross 70’ as we work our way south following the leads. Heritage Expeditions is about to start the 22nd season in the Ross Sea!
