Fun, Frolics and Frustration

We are currently are drifting off Macquarie Island waiting for heavy swells to subside so we can board the Tasmanian Wildlife Service rangers who will accompany us on our landings. Yesterday we managed to take a Zodiac cruise off Lusitania Bay to view the immense King Penguin colony but now the weather gods appear to have abandoned us.

The promised ‘Enderby Icecapades’ show was a huge hit last night and we enjoyed fabulous performances of poems, songs and stories in the style of the early explorers. After many laughs we sat down to a formal dinner which was accompanied by Terra Nova Pinot Noir, generously donated by expeditioner and winery owner Peter Cottier.
