Foggy Campbell Dawn

We awoke off Campbell Island in slightly foggy conditions but this did not stop the group from getting underway with landings. Packed lunches in hand, the group was given the option of a longer 12km walk to Northwest Bay or the board walk to Col-Lyall Saddle where many Southern Royal Albatross nest. Both options displayed great examples of megaherbs and nesting Royal Albatross and as the day progressed these impressive birds became more animated which was great to see.

Albatross

We enjoyed seeing the Hooker’s Sea Lions again and were amazed by how far up into the hills these creatures like to climb. We concluded the day with a wonderful dinner in the sheltered waters of Perseverance Harbour sharing the experiences of the day.
