Expedition Begins

The bird-watchers got off to an early start while the rest of the group enjoyed a tour in and around Madang that included a cultural performance at Hobe village. Everyone made their way to the Spirit of Enderby at 3pm where they were introduced to the expedition team. The group was then put though their paces, which included a lifeboat drill and the best way to get in and out of a Zodiac. In the evening everyone congregated in the well-stocked bar/library for pre dinner drinks followed by a delicious meal.
