Bounty Shags
Bounty Shags have flown out to investigate the ship as we pass by their home on the windswept Bounty Islands. Yesterday we took a leisurely Zodiac cruise around the rocky outcrops of the Antipodes Islands and enjoyed great views of around 200 Erect Crested Penguins, 3 Rockhoppers, numerous Light-mantled Sooty Albatross and Fulmar Prions. Our search for the Reischek's and Antipodes Parakeets and Antipodes Pipits was also successful.
Tomorrow we will look out for the Chatham Island Albatross as we circumnavigate their breeding site on Pyramid Rock in the Chatham Archipelago. If birds are your passion, this is the place to be!
