Balleny Dreams

We entertained ourselves today at sea giving and attending presentations on anything non Antarctic – you have to mix it up a bit! These included stories about some very interesting adventures shared by members of the Expedition Team who are an eclectic bunch. Sea conditions were virtually calm so the ship moved as if we were at anchor. You can’t help but notice that things are changing though. Now the nights are starting to appear again as we cross back over the Antarctic Circle. We are slowly but surely bound for the Balleny Islands and hoping they will be clear of ice. This area is rarely visited so it would be a unique privilege to spend some time there. The latest ice maps show we might be lucky so fingers are crossed for some exciting days ahead.
