300 pups counted at Enderby
Heavy seas on the crossing to Enderby Island meant that the 3am arrival was well received by all aboard. The flat calm conditions allowed all to get a few hours of great sleep before a brilliant day at Enderby Island. The Hooker's Sea Lion colony was in full season with almost 300 pups counted and marked. Although a recent storm has decimated the beach, all the sea lions are healthy, happy, fighting and breeding.
Our group of expeditioners were treated to lots of good views of parakeets, Yellow Eyed Penguins, albatross and teals. All enjoyed this sunshine filled day at Enderby Island, and are now about to enjoy a few hours of shut eye before heading south to Carnley Harbour for a full day of activities tomorrow.
