Birding at the Edge of the World - South Indian Ocean

At a distance of 4,500km SW of Perth, Australia in the South Indian Ocean lies Heard and McDonald Islands.  As well as the location of Australia's only active volacanoes, and it's highest peak Big Ben, the islands teem with wildlife.  

In November 2012 Heritage Expeditions made the first commercial voyage to these remote islands in more than a decade.
